Kurakkodu is a small agricultural village located in Kollam District, Kerala, just 12 kilometers away from MC road. This small village is an important agricultural center and is known for its spice and rice production. Long time back there was no schools near by this area for Pre-Primary education. Pre-primary education lays the foundations of a child’s knowledge, skills and rules of behavior that create prerequisites for successful progress in daily life and school.

Mid-day Meal Scheme is the popular name for the school meal program in Kerala. When the very first day of school, Jawahar LPS kurakkodu provides Mid-day Meal to school-children on all working days. The key objectives of the Mid-day Meal Program are protecting children from classroom hunger, increasing school enrolment and attendance, and improved socialization among children belonging to all caste and addressing malnutrition.
